A Day of Fun at Inner-City Arts

On Tuesday, March 29th, an enthusiastic group of Warner Bros. Impact volunteers spent the morning at Inner-City Arts. Inner-City Arts is an oasis of creativity and learning in Skid Row, one of the nation’s poorest neighborhoods. Inner-City Arts provides elementary, middle and high school students with the tools and skills they need to succeed academically and personally.

Impact volunteers spent quality time with the students of Inner-City Arts by helping them with a range of fun and creative activities. Volunteers tapped into their creative sides to help students with animation, ceramics, sketching, music, and drama. As our volunteers put it, one of the most enjoyable parts of the day was “seeing the students’ excitement to participate in the arts,” and “their acceptance and excitement as we participated in their lessons.” One volunteer reported that she “wanted to stay there all day!”

After volunteering with the students, the Impact volunteers were given a tour of the award-winning Inner-City Arts campus. Volunteers visited the professionally equipped studios, performance spaces, and the new state-of-the-art black box theater.
