Burbank Initiatives

Warner Bros. Studios has been a proud member of the Burbank community for more than 80 years. And, with over 2,000 of our employees also residing in Burbank, we take great pride in staying connected to the city through community outreach.

The Studio supports its hometown through economic development, philanthropic giving, employee volunteerism and civic leadership and continually seeks out new opportunities through which to have a positive impact on our employees and communities in which we live and work.

Community Survey

In late 2005, Warner Bros. conducted a survey among Burbank residents, asking them to identify the community’s greatest needs and concerns as well as their perceptions and expectations of the company as a member of the community.  In the fall of 2010, Warner Bros. conducted a follow-up survey to again measure opinions about Burbank and Warner Bros.

What follows is an overview of the 2010 survey responses.

  • Respondents continue to have a positive view of the company and said Warner Bros. is a responsible corporate citizen, mainly because it is a good employer and because it is involved in the community.
  • Similar to 2005, Warner Bros. received high performance ratings from Burbank residents on building a strong local economy, providing good jobs, and being a good corporate citizen. Once again, Burbank residents were overwhelmingly positive in their assessment of the overall conditions of their community. The state of the local economy, unemployment and job availability were considered the community’s greatest challenges, followed by education and affordability and availability of housing.  When prompted, Burbank residents expressed concern about health care, air and water quality, and services for the poor.
  • The majority of residents gave Warner Bros. positive ratings on contributing to a range of economic, social and cultural dimensions in Burbank and we’ve substantially improved our ratings from 2005 in inviting the community to become involved with our activities, supporting local cultural and artistic events and supporting education initiatives.
  • Since the last survey, we were pleased to note that residents have become more familiar with Warner Bros. initiatives and programs, including the REACH Scholarship & Internship Program and the Burbank Community Newsletter; these programs were both were created in response to the 2005 survey results.
